What do you think about when viewing art? Standing in front of a painting, I am mostly interested in the colors, the texture and the creative process. I am also intrigued by the story behind the piece, including the artist and the artist's inspiration. Quite simply, art is about how each individual experiences it. These questions might prove useful the next time you’re checking out a work of art:

• What do you see?
• How does it make you feel?
• Does the piece remind you of something?
• Can you describe the colors you see? Are they warm or cool?
• What do you think of the style of the painting?
• Is the art realistic or abstract?
• Would you choose to hang it in your home?
• How would you describe the texture of the work?
• What do you think is the artist's inspiration?
