Before the federal government shutdown, I enjoyed a fun and leisurely afternoon at the National Gallery of Art. A few times this past week, out of pure habit, I headed back to the gallery for a quick inspirational art break, only to realize that it was closed. It made me realize how easy it is to take things for granted. During the shutdown, here's my list of artsy alternatives if you happen to find yourself in DC in need of an art fix:
